Kakobuy shipping and customs
From the moment you submit to the moment customs is done with your parcel, filed to the articles, with the estimator filling the gaps they leave.
From submitting a parcel to the carrier pickup
Help 106: after you submit, Kakobuy ships within 24 hours, and the carrier arranges pickup within 2 working days, with weekends and public holidays not counted. A parcel submitted on a Friday afternoon can sit until Tuesday without anything having gone wrong.
Help 108 explains the freight step. You first pay on the weight measured when items were stored. Packing finishes within 24 hours of submission; if the packed weight is lower, the difference goes back to your balance, and if higher, it is taken from your balance. With too little balance, the parcel waits until you pay, which is why help 84 suggests keeping some money in the account.

Weight: actual, volume, and the case for combining
Many lines charge the larger of actual and volumetric weight; some have actual-weight rules, minimum billable weights or other exceptions. Help 26 gives the formula: length times width times height in centimetres, divided by 5000, 6000, 7000 or 8000 depending on the carrier. The UK lines in the estimator showed /8000 on 10 October 2026.
Help 25 makes the case for combining with a worked EMS example to the US: first 500 g at 160 yuan, each further 500 g at 55 yuan, a 4-yuan operation fee. Three separate parcels of 500 g, 1,200 g and 2,100 g cost 164 + 274 + 384 = 822 yuan. The same items as one 3,800 g parcel cost 549 yuan, a saving the article puts at 33%.
The example dates from 2020 and EMS rates have moved, but the shape holds: each extra parcel pays another first-weight step and another operation fee.

Line rules sit with each shipping line, not in the help centre
No article lists Kakobuy’s shipping lines or a maximum parcel weight. The public estimator does, line by line. For a 1 kg parcel on 10 October 2026 it offered 13 lines to the US, 16 to the UK, 18 to Germany, 17 to France and 16 to Poland, each with its own rules in the notes.

Some of those rules work like weight limits in reverse. Two UPS lines to the US were greyed out because “The parcel weight should not be less than 2000g”; HKUPS to the UK and Poland needed at least 2,501 g; “UK Line-B(>5kg)” needed 5,001 g. The US EUB line capped actual weight at 2 kg, allowing an estimate up to 2,150 g. The German lines route through Amsterdam for customs and can only be returned to the overseas warehouse, not to China.
Declared value: a 2022 table that is still online
Help 27 says Kakobuy declares based on the actual value of the goods, the carrier’s requirements and each country’s threshold, and that you may add a note to set the declared value yourself. Help 107 is a single image, uploaded on 12 July 2022, with declaration guidance per route: EUB/TUB limited to 140 USD per package, EST up to 800 USD for the US and 22 EUR for other European countries, UPS (HK) to the US at 50 to 300 USD under 5 kg.
The same image bans ten generic commodity names: sample, gift, personal effect, cloth, box/bag, seed, model, plastic, goods and accessory. Help 44 explains the risk of getting it wrong: a false declaration found by customs means the parcel comes back, and a fine in serious cases.

Customs: three generations of EU rules
The help centre carries the EU threshold three ways, from three different years. Help 69 (created 2022) lists the European Union at 22 EUR in a table it describes as collected from the internet. Help 110 says that from 1 July 2021, the 22-euro VAT exemption ended and all goods are subject to VAT, collected through IOSS for B2C parcels under 150 euros.
The later operator notice sits outside both articles. A Kakobuy announcement of 23 June 2026 says the EU removes the duty exemption for parcels under 150 euros from 1 July 2026 and charges a fixed 3 euros per product category; Kakobuy charges “Only €3 Per Parcel” regardless of categories, added to the freight at submission, and says it will give notice if that subsidy ends. A notice of 1 July 2026 adds that duty-free EU lines include all taxes. For the US, a notice of 17 April 2025 introduced tax-free routes at roughly 5 to 10 dollars more per package than USPS.

Tax numbers, and why parcels come back
Help 126 (created March 2025) asks for a tax identification number where a destination requires it, and gives formats for two countries: Chile, RUT, as XX.XXX.XXX-X; Brazil, CPF for individuals and CNPJ for companies. Without one, the article warns, a parcel may not ship or may be returned.
Help 37 lists four reasons a submitted parcel is returned: it still exceeds the line’s size limit after compression; the carrier refuses it or customs returns it for reasons other than contraband; address or customs trouble on the way; or no valid phone number for the recipient. The fourth is the easiest to prevent. Help 109 adds that when customs contacts the recipient and gets no answer, the cost of the return or destruction falls on the recipient.

Tracking, lag, and an unsuccessful dispatch
Tracking lives in the member center under My Parcel, then Logistics Details (help 111). The article warns that international logistics involves several parties, so updates lag. If the system cannot show a route, Kakobuy says it will give you another tracking address.
“Unsuccessful Dispatch” (help 32) means the local courier tried and nobody signed. Contact the local carrier first; Kakobuy can chase it in parallel. Act quickly: Kako Insurance does not cover parcels returned or destroyed because the recipient did not collect in time (help 123).

When the warehouse sends a parcel back to you
A parcel can also bounce before it leaves China. Help 37, point a: if the packed parcel still does not fit the line you chose after compressing and repacking, Kakobuy returns it to your warehouse list and tells you by internal message. You then choose another line and pay the difference.
The fix is in the estimator before you submit: check the line notes for size limits and for “parcel length, width, and height information is needed”, which the US results showed for every line on 10 October 2026, and add a Pre-packaged run (18 yuan) for anything bulky.
